Curriculum

At Mayo Kindergarten we provide nursery education and are registered under Cumbria LEA's Early Years Development Plan.

We maintain a staff to child ration of 1:4 for children of 2 years of age and 1:8 for children of 3 years of age, which complies with OFSTED standards.
During each session a child will remain under the supervision of the same member of staff.

We provide a planned curriculum build around the 'Early Learning Goals' as set out in the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Language development is considered to be of great importance, and every opportunity is taken to improve language skills through other subjects. Writing, reading and number work will be introduced if, and when a child is ready. An extensive range of art, craft and structured play equipment is available.
